Welcome to Ye Ji’s website.欢迎来到纪野的主页

Ye Ji is a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Numerical Analysis group of the Delft Institute of Applied Mathematics (DIAM), Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics & Computer Science (EEMCS), at the Delft University of Technology (TU Delft).

Specializing in Computational Science and Engineering (CSE), Ye’s work bridges the disciplines of applied mathematics, computer science, and engineering to address intricate, real-world challenges. His research is particularly concentrated on Computer-Aided Geometric Design (CAGD) and IsoGeometric Analysis (IGA), with a focus on advancing the theoretical underpinnings and developing efficient methodologies for spline-based analysis-suitable parameterization, mesh generation, and geometric modelling. This specialized area is a pivotal component of IGA that has significant ramifications for downstream simulation analysis. More recently, Ye also started focusing on fast and robust structured mesh generation for twin-screw machines, which are extensively employed in industries to produce high-pressure air and gases.

In addition to his research, Ye contributes to the academic community by serving as a reviewer for Mathematical Reviews. He is also a co-developer of Geometry + Simulation Modules (G+Smo), a prominent open-source C++ software platform for isogeometric analysis.

  • [07/2026]: I attended CSIAM GDC 2026 (18th CSIAM Conference on Geometric Design and Computing) in Hohhot, Inner Mongolia, China, where I gave an invited talk titled “CAD-CAE Integration: From Theory and Algorithms to Engineering Practice” and joined the Young Talent Salon & Industry-University Dialogue panel. Our group also brought one conference paper and two posters to the conference — a concentrated showcase of our recent work. I am truly honored that our paper on a B-spline-based receding-horizon trajectory optimization method for UAV obstacle avoidance received the Conference Best Paper Award, and our poster Extended r-adaptive isogeometric analysis for weak-discontinuous problems received the Conference Best Poster Award.

  • [07/2026]: I gave an oral presentation titled “An isogeometric formulation of the lattice Boltzmann method on CAD-exact geometries” at WCCM-ECCOMAS 2026 (17th World Congress on Computational Mechanics & 10th ECCOMAS Congress), Munich, Germany. Many thanks to my amazing collaborators, Monica and Matthias!

  • [07/2026]: Jingyi presented our paper Extended r-adaptive isogeometric analysis for weak-discontinuous problems at SPM/SMI 2026 (Symposium on Solid and Physical Modeling & Shape Modeling International), Istanbul, Türkiye. Many thanks to my amazing collaborators, Jingyi, Chungang and Matthias!

  • [05/2026]: I am very pleased that our new paper, Extended r-adaptive isogeometric analysis for weak-discontinuous problems, has been published in Computer-Aided Design. We will present this work at the Symposium on Solid and Physical Modeling (SPM) 2026 in Istanbul, Türkiye. Looking forward to seeing you there!

  • [05/2026]: I presented a poster entitled Efficient Thermal Simulation in Metal Additive Manufacturing via Semi-Analytical Isogeometric Analysis at HOFEIM 2026 in Siena, Italy. The work demonstrates a semi-analytical IGA framework for LPBF thermal simulations, achieving up to 258× speed-up over conventional FEM while maintaining high accuracy on complex CAD geometries.

  • [04/2026]: I had the pleasure of visiting the Inria Centre at Université Côte d’Azur, where I exchanged ideas on adaptive isogeometric analysis, spline technologies, and numerical simulation with members of the AROMATH team. Many thanks to Dr. Angelos Mantzaflaris for his kind invitation. I am grateful for the insightful discussions and the inspiring research environment.

  • [01/2026]: I am very excited to attend the GiSmo developer days 2026 in Pilsen, Czech Republic, on 4-6 March 2026. Looking forward to meeting all GiSmo developers and users!
